Computer Games in the Action-ADventure Game Genre

The games industry is huge and growing, bringing billions of dollars a year into the world. Many companies are dedicated to making games, often employing millions of people. A game is generally a structured, controlled form of entertainment, sometimes undertaken for fun or entertainment, and at other times used as an educational tool. Games are very different from work, which are often carried out under stressful conditions, and from fine art, which tend to be more a form of philosophical or aesthetic elements. These titles take place within a detailed and highly-detailed world, full of interesting background scenery and plenty of puzzles to solve. They are set in various fictional environments, but each game in this genre tends to take place within a recognisably modern time frame. Most of the main characters in these games are female, and deal with a variety of challenging situations and problems, including solving murders, protecting the environment, dealing with supernatural beings, exploring mysterious caves and other sites, and collecting items and artifacts. The majority of Zelda games involve Link, a young Hylian boy who lives in the world of Hyrule (the home of the Zelda character Link) and is on a quest to find the legendary Zelda (a white horse).
