The Difference Between Vegetables and Fruits
In botany, a fruit tree is the outermost leaf-like structure in plants which is generally formed inside of a fruit bearing fruit where the ovule develops. The ovule is the end part of a fruit that contains the seeds. Seeds are the edible part of a fruit.
A fruit can be described as a sweet juicy vegetable, green or dried up fleshy mass of either vegetable or bird’s egg, and sometimes contains a whitish substance usually referred to as nectar or milk. The ovule develops inside of a thick layer of fruit called the pulp which contains the seeds. The pulp is surrounded by a fleshy stem called the jelliflower which is often hard to the touch. Sometimes the fleshy part of the stem is covered with white spongy material which looks like small dumplings.
All vegetables and fruits have a single stem and there are two main differences between these stems. The stems of fruits are generally straighter while that of vegetables is more wavier. This is the reason why most people refer to fruits as vegetables, even though technically they are not. Some of the most commonly used words to describe the vegetable include: tomato, potato and bean.
When it comes to comparing a tomato to a fruit, there are some points to take note. The size of a tomato is always one of the first things that a person will notice, and most other fruits fall into this category. In botanically speaking, the tomato consists of a single cell and all other parts are considered attachments. A fruit is a complex cell full of various components, and each cell is made up of a prothallium or flower, an interior component and a seed. A vegetable is a complex cell filled with various components such as a leaf, stem, fruit case, and seed.
It would be very easy to say that vegetables are more important than a fruit. However, there are several reasons why people prefer fruits over vegetables. For botanically speaking, a fruit does not have a seed, and seeds may break off before the fruit reaches maturity. Fruits also contain large amounts of water when compared to vegetables which means that they have to be processed quickly before they are eaten. Fruits are also rich in vitamins and minerals, which are not found in any vegetable.
Another example that proves that fruits do not last longer than vegetables is by looking at the way a carrot or a potato stores energy. When you eat a carrot, it releases a lot of vitamin c and if you eat a potato that releases a lot of vitamin c as well. If we were to compare a potato to a carrot, the potato would win every time. Most of us know that most vegetables are much better for our health than fresh fruits. That is the reason why most doctors recommend eating vegetables instead of fresh fruits.
